In a world that is slowly being filled with individuals who hold superhuman capabilities, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep control of your own fate. This book was recommended by someone on facebook. I don't usually read superhero type books but I thought it looked interesting enough and took a chance. Overall this was a great first book by this author though definitely not for kids with the language and violence. It was interesting enough and hard to put down once you started.Since it was a first book I will nit pick a bit but this is more for the author than a criticism of the story itself. Having the print justified on the right side of the page makes it look like a report instead of a book. There were also a few grammatical errors that could be fixed in any future printings. There are a lot of characters in this story and some with multiple names, it sometimes got a little confusing. With that many characters it makes it difficult to feel any connection to any of them, and the "main character" Brennan Crane Jr doesn't seem to have any real redeeming qualities that draw a reader in. There are a few of the characters drawn into the plot do have substance and make a reader feel like rooting for them leave anxious to see what happens to them next. With all the "Meanwhile" and " A little while ago" type notices I was really waiting for a "back at the bat cave". Those seem to break the flow of the story instead of helping it, giving it a comic book feel.
So you may wonder how I gave it a 5 star rating with that. Easy! The concept of this book is intriguing. It takes a good book (and as such, a good author) to bring in readers from another genre and hold their interest. It takes an even better author to make that reader actually look forward to the next installment of the series. I have donated my copy to my local library and will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.

I couldn't put this book down for a second! I was on the edge of my seat! What a gripping story!
A good friend of mine wrote this book and I'm not giving it a good review just because of that. It's a fantastic read for anyone who is a fan a of superheroes or other things like that. Simply wonderful!
If you're looking for a book from the superhero genre that will keep you so entranced you won't be able to put it down, you've found the right one. The first in a promising series, the writing paints a picture you can't seem to tear yourself out of. I highly recommend it.
Also... the customer service is amazing. There was an issue with my book and it was taken care of promptly and at no cost to me. I'm very happy with my purchase!
5*. I recieved a paperback copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review. At first I was a little leary about reading this book because its not really in my genre but I decided to give it a try. It is faced paced and a very easy read, but there was too much going from different characters to past and present of these characters that made me little confused. Also some parts of the book I had some questions about that I am hoping will be answered in the next book in the series. As this being Joseph's fisrt book, it was a good read overall. Thank you, Joseph for the chance to read and review your first book!!
